Latin School instructors for sc. deferred.
Regent Mallalieu moved that the matter of choosing instructors for the Latin school be deferred until the next meeting of the board, which motion also prevailed.
Relating to Sarah A. Moore, artist.
Regent Mallalieu moved that the action in selecting Sarah A. Moore as teacher of painting sc. be confirmed, she to act without compensation from the state, which motion also prevailed.
Miss Smith elected registrar sc. salary $1400.
Regent mallalieu moved that Miss Ellen Smith be elected registrar of the University, and of all of its departments, with the duties usual to such an officer and to perform such other duties as may be assigned to hereby the chancellor, at a salary of $1400. per annum, which motion also prevailed.
A.E. Blount elected
Prof. of Agr.
Regent Mallalieu moved that Prof. A.E. Blount of [?] Collins, col. be elected to the chain of agriculture, at a salary of $2,000. per annum, which motion also prevailed.
C.E. Bessy elecected prof. of Botany and Horticulture sc.
Regent Hull moved that prof. C.E. Bessey of the Iowa Agricultural college, be elected to the chair of botany and horticulture at a salary of $1800. per annum, which motion also prevailed.
Will O. Jones Janitor 3 months
On motion, Mr. Will O. Jones was elected janitor of the university building, to have charge of the building and grounds for the period of three months from this date, at a salary of $50. per month, which motion prevailed.
Announcements of sections of med. coll - expense.
Supervision.
Regent Hiatt moved that te different sections of the medical college be authorized to issue annoincements for the ensuing year, if they so desire, without expense to the university, under the supervision of the chancellor, which motion also pervailed.
Regent Mallalieu offered the following:
General Appropriations - how drawn.
Resolved: That all appropriations, expecting those made for the purchase of some specific thin, be drawn only to the parties entitled there to, directly, by the secretary which resolution prevailed.
Chancellor to assign rooms sc.
Also the following: resolved that the matter of assigning rooms to the members of the faculties and instructors, be and the same is hereby placed under the control of the chancellor, which resolution prevailed.
On motion the board adjourned subject to the call of the president.
