The secretary submitted and read his report of certificates drawn upon the University fund since the last regular meeting of the board: also bills fuled in his office financial reports &C., of Lieut. Townley and bills filed by Profs. Thompson and Culbertson all of which were referred to the finance committee.
A bill of Professor Thompson for hygenic models furnished, was on motion referred to the University & Library committee.
A communication from Lieut. Townley, relating to drill &C., in the military department was received and referred to the committee on course of study.
The secretary read a communication from members of the medical faculty, relating to leave of absence of Prof. Lowry, which was received and referred to the University and library committee.
A communication relating to the appointment of Dr. A.S. Von Mansfelde to a professorship in the medical college was received and referred to the committee on Course of Study.
Regent Mallalieu called the attention of the board to certain improvements needed at the college farm, in the way of cleaning up the farm and improvements about the buildings, whereupon the chairman referred this matter to the University & Library Committee, to report.

The Chancellor, I.J. Manatt, read from his annual report, informally, calling the attention of the board to the following matters, viz:
Degrees Conferred.
1st. The recommendations of the faculty of candidates for degrees, as follows:
For the degree of Bachelor of Arts, Geo. W. Botsfond, Alexander A. Monroe, Robert L. Marsh.
For the degree of Bachelor of Science, Anna D. Aldrich, Flora E. Frost, Jesse H. Holmes Herbert W. Olmstead.
For the degree of Bachelor of Literature, William H. Lichty, Clara Parks, William P. Sullivan.
For the degree of Bachelor civil engineering, Ellis O. Lewis, Edward J. Robinson, Alvin L. White. (Resolution of faculty not furnished)
Honorary degrees.
For the honorary Degrees of doctor of laws Prof. E. Ben Andrews, of Brown University.
