I think the Stations may be able to secure assistance in the
matter of preparation, but that will not be a general rule. I
suppose this will apply mostly in cases where the exhibit is
perishable, or where it will not be of permanent value to the
station sending. If there are special reasons why you should
have assistance, please write fully as to how it will be used, and
why it is needed, and I will see what can be done.
Prospects generally are good, and I think we shall find that the
botanists are fully up with the others in their work. Scribner,
Atkinson, Pammel, and Halsted are all making extensive preparaions,
and nearly every Station is doing something.

P. S. It is the plan to provide uniform herbarium sheets and
labels, the latter to be printed; printing to be done by the Dept.
