[stamp] March 4th 1890 Dear Professor Bessey. Many thanks for your kind and sympathetic letter of the (Biological Department) 28th. [ult?] Our losses^ are chiefly in the way of microscopes and specimens which were temporarily in the large building for a conversagine - also of course the whole of library - the Biological part of which had not been moved over to this Building and which must have been worht $10,000 alone - again the Museum lost a great deal in the course of being saved You might be of assistance in getting any publications within your state- I mean survey or learned loc: publications - sent to us- ase such contributions

will be very welcome as it will be a long time before we are able to get together so good in a collection as we had before. Mrs Wright went to [Livingston] at Christmas and I hope to koin her there in April - In the meantime this Building [] of more use to the University than was contemplated and the Museum addition is in pro gress already - I am afraid my Botanic Garden Scheme however will get a set back. with kindest regards I am Yrs sincerely RRamsay Wright
