Dear Prof. Bessey:
I have duplicates of about three hundred species of grasses, with a few ferns and sedges, which I want to exchange. Do you want any of them? Have you a list of your duplicates? Did I ever send you any of my western fungi? If not I will do so soon, and can add a few new things from here. This is the richest collecting ground I have ever seen, but am so busy with other work that I do not find time for half I want to do.
What is the "Chicago Correspondence University" which gives your name as one of the faculty? I want Ph. D. but do not quite understand the plan of the institution, and shall be glad if you will give particulars.
Yours as ever, signature
