Perhaps by this time you will be able to give your attention to the collections of Algae about which I wrote you in May. The sets comprise from six to nine hundred specimens, classified and named from the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts, England, M[?], Sandwhich S[?]. & Portugal. I offer them at 25 each though my father received

$30 and $75 for similar collecting. The work is neatly done and would be an addition that I am sure you would value in your College Herbarium. I was much interested in [?] "[?] upon Botany" especially as the friend whom I am visiting was a visitor at the Exposition.

I do not expect to return to Brooklyn till September and have been away [?] since the last of May. I will be glad to give you any [further?] information about the Algae that you may desire.

I send you by mail a few specimens of Algae to give you some idea of the arrangement of those belonging to the collection. L[?] used uniform paper – [five?] sizes – the larger size I cannot send conveniently. The specimens are all named very carefully and I think you would find them correct as he was in constant correspondence with the best Alg[o?]logists. I think
