I am very much obliged for the Botanical Bulletin just rec'd. I collected 40 species of Myxomycetes last fall after I returned from Phila. and hope to make the list 100 this year. I havent determined all of [?] yet, but have some very interesting species – [Arcyria Vitellina Phillips?], a California species, &c.

Yours at hand. I admit that the photo of acidium could be improved, but it will take a very thin section. The leaf part will be impressed on the plate very quickly, while the yellow spores take two or three times as long. I enclose a few more samples.

Dear Sir.
You suggested that I make some blue prints to send out with our exriccate – so I obtained a camera, and have begun photographing. I enclose a proof from my 2d negative. How do you like the idea? This was made with Spencer's 2/3 objective – 5 minutes exposure without the eye-piece.
It will take practice of course to do good work, but after the time to expose is learned the work is very easy – and is very interesting.
