My dear Professor

Your letter has come back to me today from Prest Arthur, who has looked it over & on the strength of it has moved the Bd of Regents to act this ar: when the Board is not in session and it seems necessary to take immediate action in filling either the chair of Biology or that of Physics the Executive Committee may act. Winshell unless you should come about the same time that he returns home.

[?] [me?] that you can spend a day with us next week.

Confidentially C. W. Hall

both for you & for th[?] [?] to meet & look at each other if nothing soon be done.

Can you not stop here on your return? I have no engagement for Wednesday evening at [?] but beyond that I shall be at home at almost any hour.

I would suggest for reasons which I will explain when I [??] that you make no mention of this nor of your coming to Professor
