Prof. C. E. Bessey:

Dear Sir— Your favor of the 8th is at hand and I have forwarded to you by express two bundles, being [Fascicles?] I & VI of my Southern plants, the price of which is $36.00. Hope to have Fasc. II or VIII nearly next winter.

I have mailed to you a circular giving particulars relative to my wood distribution, & hope you will be pleased to subscribe.

Before I am ready to saw them to length I think there will be time to get a card from you so you had best write what length you prefer – whether 12 inches or less. I hope before a very great while to send you something on our Flora here – the Higher Crypt. and Flowering [?]. on wh[?] I had done considerable work. But as there have been [changes?] & unexpected hindrances heretofore there may be in the future.
