My Dear Prof Bessey

I am extremely anxious
to obtain all the statistics I can concerning the
Nebraska Arbor Day. Now many trees are planted
each year. How many have been planted in
all since the institution of the day? What
effect has it had in foresting the state? Is
its effect felt as yet in furnishing timber as
fuel? If so to what extent? These facts
I want for my address before the State
Forestry Association of which I am head
for this year. If you can furnish me with them
or direct me to one who can I shall be
greatly indebted.

I hope I am about to [become?]
of some use again; but for the past
5 years I have been almost unable to [meet?].
