Your letter
of Feb 1st/87 was received. I enclose
the agricultural experimental stations bill –
as it passed the Senate, and as reported
in the House where it is now pending in
Committee of the Whole with the House bill.
It is not in my horror now to secure
amendments, if they are desirable. The
bill was carefully examined and was
discussed at length in the Senate.
