West Chester. March 12. 1886

Professo Charles E Bessey
My dear Sir.

I have received the
botanical portion of the American
Naturalist, for which I thank
you – The similarity between
our reviews of Coulter's Book
is very remarkable and compels
one to conclude that we
must have done about the
fair thing for friend Coulter.

I am still in bed – better
but helpless as a baby. This
is my fourth week. It is a
pity they could not have delayed
the birth of [Dodal?]—[Post?/Port?] about
30 years, then you could have
had [Cuscuta?] to yourself.

Very truly your friend
J. T. Rothrock
