As your relations with the University
of Nebraska are understood the
situation is clear. We did not know
just what the conditions were under
which you went there and as we
wanted you have it was felt that the
best thing to do was to tell you so
as earnestly as we could. But now
as nothing further than that can be
done I must say that I hope
you will let that nebraska legislation
act perfectly natural.
Nature will assert itself sooner
or later, – let it be this winter.
We shall very likely have a new
building for the College of Mechanic
Arts and a Professor of Physics
before the close of the present
year. Possibly, something more
but we can hardly expect it.
