Peabody Academy of Science,

Salem, Mass.,

Apr 13th 1881

My dear Sir,

Could you find it convenient to give
six lectures on Physiological Botany
this summer at our school?

Thinking that basically you might
have contemplated a trip East this
summer you might be willing to accept
the small sum that we can offer
you for this course, namely one hundred
dollars ($100). The lectures might be
given in the course of two weeks commencing
about July 18th.

Will you kindly answer within a week
and greatly oblige

Yours very truly
Ewd S Morse
