My Dear Sir
I am in receipt
of your late favor in answer to mine. I have
turned over to Mr. Putnam that part in reference
to entomology. The only direct interest I take in the
subject is that if a citizen of Iowa desires
that the state to which I belong shall be sufficiently
alive to its own interest to encourage this important
travel of economic science. I may have my personal
preferences but am ready to [?] them at why
time be the [?] you.
As to the botanical matter as I never [?]
your wishes I shall proceed [at?] once to [put?]
up an equivalent of $50.00 [?] the sections you
particularly specify, will [they?] & have them ready in
[?] four days so as to reach you some time next
week. You can then judge better what I shall
be able to [furnish?] you hereafter. I shall hope at
least to make it satisfactory & [profitable?] [but?] [then?]
Agr College. I think I sent you before a set
of Rocky Mt [Express?] in that I do not [?]
them in this parcel, which will embrace a selection
from [Mich?] Wyoming [?] & Cala.
Will write more fully in [sending?] the [same?].
Sincerely yours,
